Spencer's Blessing Day May 6, 2012

This week was a very eventful weekend filled with sad/happy feelings.  We had family come in town from Idaho which we always look so forward too!!!  Especially because there is a lot of cousins for sadie to play with!  On Friday I babysat Boston and Easton for a bit while Nick and Kesha went to a movie for his work the kids had so much fun playing together outside and got along really well- playing outside is the best can't wait for summer to do this everyday!  After Tiff , Sandy and kids got in town Tiff and the kids joined us in playing outside the kids were all so happy and played very well.  When Eddie got home from work he did a ton of yard work to get ready for the blessing at our house and he took advantage of the bins being in front of our house!  After playing with the kids outside we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Davis's house and took Rubios over for a late dinner/visit.  When we got there we were all noticing that grandpa was not acting normal and seemed that he was forgetting things which he normally doesn't.  Grandpa had fallen down outside a week ago and thought he had just hurt his knee but everything seemed ok until a few days later.  When we were all there on Friday the kids took grandpa to the hospital he didn't think he needed to go because his knee had been feeling better!  When they took him they had to keep him for a few days and the did an MRI and found that he had a stroke but was doing fairly well but would need to stay a few days.  We all went to visit him in the hospital he was so ready to get out and go home to see grandma they are not good apart from each other.  Grandpa is now doing well but will need some therapy and can't drive possibly forever- he is soooo sad about not driving.  My mom and the kids have been there every night to take care of them and make them dinner and run their errands.  Sandy stayed all week and helped best she could.  The kids are all very exhausted but happy to see grandpa doing pretty well for what he had been through!
After all this with Grandpa we had a shower at my mom's house for Matt and Mckenzie who are having a baby boy in a few weeks.  The shower turned out wonderful my mom had a lot of help from neighbors and family because she had been at the hospital with grandpa and couldn't get last minute things together. We had the usual chicken salad fruit and artichoke dip delicious this is a family favorite party meal.  They got a lot of wonderful things for this little baby boy and are very excited!  We all chatted all night and the kids enjoyed playing outside.
Sunday since we had so much family in town we blessed Spencer that day.  Eddie had performed such a wonderful blessing he always does a great job with blessings- so many great things he blessed him with!  As a family we are so blessed to have Spencer Calvin Woolley in our lives he has brought us so much joy and happiness we cannot believe.  He is such a good mellow baby and was so quiet during his blessing- unlike his sister who cried her whole blessing!  He looked so handsome on his special day and was also as happy as he always is!  We are so blessed that we got to have so many wonderful priesthood holders in our family join us in the circle for the blessing!  After sacrament meeting we went to our house to have a barbecue we grilled burgers, hot dogs and brats!  We had a picnic with everyone in our backyard and everyone brought yummy dishes and we provided the meat and drinks.  Thanks everyone for making this such a special day for us all.
What an incredible weekend with all it's ups and downs we all accomplished what we needed to and had some wonderful parties.  Most of all though we missed grandpa while he was in the hospital and especially missed him in the blessing circle!  What a spiritual weekend and the weather couldn't have been better sunny but not tool hot!
